Recap: Junction City Gravel 35

Parking: Available at the Junction City Park. Bathrooms are usually locked.

7 cyclists. 35.5 miles. 4100+ feet of elevation gain. Route at bottom of post.

Tim Cristy created a Junction City Gravel Explorer route which we tested earlier in 2021. This is the recap for the adjusted route which cutout some pavement. The route covers a number of roads that are on other routes especially the Bremen routes. Gravel ranged from crushed dirt to scatter gravel an occasional rock gardens in the southern half. Short punchy climbs are throughout the route. Route is roughly 50% gravel. There are no services unless you venture into Shawnee.

For lunch we stopped at Stone Church Trailhead and sat at the sun. Sunny all day with temps in the upper 30’s to start. Ended in the low 50’s. Beautiful day in the saddle.
