Recap: Hanover DRR 34

Al brought out the buckeyes!

Parking: Available at the park at the intersection of Marne Rd and S. Main St. NE. No bathroom at parking lot.

12-13 cyclists. 33.6 miles. 2870+ feet of elevation gain. Route at bottom of post. Halfway through the ride we caught up to Meredith who was riding around looking for our group. At the bottom of one long descent we encountered Al who brought a box of buckeyes to share.

Cindy Berard created the original Hanover Gravel route and after riding the route it is now reclassified as a dirty road route with 33% gravel. Most of the roads are quiet farm and country roads with a smattering of connector roads that may have more traffic. The route crosses other routes from Bladensburg. Conditions were mostly crushed gravel with some soft sections that didn’t get to dry out. Climbs are more gentle that other routes.

Sunny all day with temps in the low 30’s to start ending in the low 40’s. Headwinds on the return while heading south. Beautiful day in the saddle.
