falling into a mid-summer's night dream

As contemplation is a condition of consciousness, i have wondered whether i must be alone, to be home - where i long to be.

And so it comes to be, that the last likely days of this year to feel almost as summer, occurred this week, when also, my beloved brother came to be in town to ride. Zaleski calls me home and invites me to reciprocate, and i do; which brought me to an answer of a question contemplated previously.

No, i can be home, in company - the more trees the better - and my brother, with me.

The night before our ride, we chased daylight to get camp made, bikepacking up from the Iron Furnace lots to the end of daylight on the ridge of Kings Hollow Trail. As we reached our site, i saw, as i thought, anotehr tent just up the path; beautifully aglow on the ridge. Then it rose, softening and brightening, and we, with the trees, bent into the night shadows; beauty full aglow, with fire and maple whisky - a lovely, luminous night.

We mixed in a bit of the Copperhead trail around Lake Hope and enjoyed a grand ride!
