Recap: 7TH Annual Great Thaw Ride powered by Kenda Tires

Big thanks to Kenda Tires for the continued support for the group. I estimate we had 75+ for the Great Thaw. Temps were in the mid to low 50’s with headwind and some sprinkles. Gravel was in great shape for most of the route. Thanks to Will for stopping by with the Floyd’s of Leadville truck. We had a great time with the “Wheel of Kenda” giving away free Kenda swag, Floyd’s of Leadville products and Ohio Gravel Grinders shirts. We also had free samples of Floyd’s of Leadville products for everyone. I saw a lot of smiles today. Thanks to everyone who joined us!

Ray founded Ohio Gravel Grinders in 2012. Ray moved to Columbus in 2007 and jumped into bicycle event organization and advocacy by launching Bike the Cbus, Columbus’ only city-wide bicycle tour, currently organized by Yay Bikes! He developed Columbus Rides Bikes! blog and companion Facebook group with over 3000 members to support the Tuesday Nite Ride. Ray has been instrumental in organizing charity rides, including Ride the Elevator, Night of 1000/1001 Tacos, and Yelp on Two Wheels to support many organizations.
