Recap: Flint Ridge Round Barn Gravel Grinder

16 cyclists. 40 miles. 3750 ft climbing. Faster group of eight pulled ahead after the first few hills. Temps in low 20’s to mid 30’s with persistent headwind throughout the ride. We stopped at mile 16 at what once was Stop 22 Country Market and is now an Amish store with expired groceries and no hot food. Cold sandwiches were available though. Proprietors were nice. Lots of barking dogs, cows and sheep hanging out especially in more isolated parts of the route. Near Fultonham we saw a mouse hanging out in the middle of the lane sunning itself. We also stopped at the Dollar General at Gratiot before climbing up the ridge to finish out the ride. Our group of 6 averaged around 10mph.
