Recap: Blackwater Falls Gravel Adventure Loop

Solo ride. 35 miles. 2700ft climbing. #optoutside on Black Friday. Started in Parsons, WV. Climbed up forest road to Canaan Loop Road. Stopped to hike out to Table Rock, 2.5 mile hiking loop. Hiking trail was rocky and boggy. Beautiful views. Continued on Canaan Loop Road toward the Blackwater Falls main lodge. Puddles were icy and muddy. The road adjacent to stream crossings were beat up and very rocky since the last time I rode it. Stopped for a snack at a gas station outside of Davis. Hit the Blackwater Canyon Trail in Thomas. Stopped at the waterfall and talked to Doyle Parsons, dedicated trail volunteer, who indicated that the entire trail to Hendricks has been cleared of trees. No more bushwhacking. Big thanks to all the volunteers who work on the trail. As the sun was setting I caught a glimpse of Lindy Point overlook from the trail.
