Shade Gravel

We started this ride from the Shade Community Center (loditownship.org/home), which is off Route 33, South of Athens, Ohio. There is a small country store, just below the community center, which has drinks, and hot sandwiches in the afternoon. There is a shelter house here too, with picnic tables, but no restroom. This is a grueling ride, lots of up and down, maybe 15 miles of pavement. A highlight is the Blackwood Covered Bridge (1879), around mile marker 30.

For the adventurous turn right on Miller Rd around the 15.4 mile mark. The shortcut lops off a few miles but adds some adventure.
