Recap: Bladensburg Gravel 39

Quick stats

  • 11 cyclists

  • 38.5 miles

  • 3300 ft climbing

  • Gravel was dry and fast

  • One slow speed climbing spill

  • Stream crossing at the end of the ride

  • Temps in upper 60’s to mid 80’s

  • Sunny at start and became overcast

We parked at the ballfields in Bladensburg on the west side of town. Gravel roads were dry, fast and loose. The south end of the route has a loop that can be cut out to make a 32 mile route. This route features 80% gravel roads and a stream crossing at the end. Sunny at the start and the ride ended overcast.

There were only a few dogs on the route and most stayed on their property. We met a group of three inquisitive cows. We also saw the pigs that live domestically in Bladensburg.

We stopped for lunch at a cemetery at the top of the hill. The shade, breeze and conversation were nice.
