Recap: Mohican Area Gravel Grinder

Two cyclists. 37+ miles, 3,200+ feet of climbing. Temps at start 54. Temps at end of ride 30. Started in Danville and headed north toward Loudonville. The roads were soft and sloppy. We had a tail wind and some cross wind on the way up. Lunch at Trails End Pizza. This is where Vince realized that he had his pants on backwards. Butt pad chamois in the front! Winds were picking up as we left lunch. We climbed up to the ridge and then back down to Wally Rd. Another slight tail wind down the valley. The climb up past Blueberry Hill was also sloppy and soft. Back on Wally Rd we saw FOUR bald eagles, including a really large juvenile that was at least twice the size of the adults. One of the bald eagles was only about 50 feet away from us in a tree. Great view! We experienced some headwinds toward the end in the exposed areas. The trail had about 5 trees down as we headed back into Danville. Great ride!
