Recap: Canaan Snowy Gravel Loop

2 cyclists. 28.5 miles. 3050 ft climbing. Started at Blackwater Bikes in Davis. Rode over to Thomas. Headed down Blackwater Canyon trail. Upper part was snowy. Walked a few sections. Trail cleared up and was great heading into Hendricks. Turned left and climbed out of the valley on FR 244 to Canaan Loop Road. What is comparable to 1.5 miles of mud? 2 miles of pushing your bike through 6-12” of mushy snow uphill. Top of the ridge the snow became mushy tire racks but mostly rideable. Dropped back down to Davis on paved road. Temps ranged from 25-55. Lunch and #coffeeoutside
