Recap: Mohican Area Gravel Grinder

9 cyclists. Route is 44 miles, but our group of five cut out the last climbing section and ended with 38 miles and 3600+ ft climbing. Temps in low 30’s/upper 20’s; overcast with occasional mist/sleet. Gravel was crushed down and fast in most sections. Only Stumbaugh Rd. on the ridge was messy. To get to the ridge Big Hill lived up to its name with 20-30% gradient over a half a mile. Only two cyclists rode up, the rest of us walked it. Pizza shop was closed for lunch so we ate at the gas station. Saw a stampede, hawks and a possible bald eagle sighting on the trail as we headed back into Danville.
