  • Mason-Dixon Historical Park 79 Buckeye Road Core, WV 26541 (map)

What: 10th Annual Hilly Billy Roubaix presented by Cannondale
What's that: A really hard cycling event over 74-miles or 33-miles of mud, gravel, and some surprises!
When: June 22, 2019
Where: Mason Dixon Historical Park, 79 Buckeye Road, Core, West Virginia 26541
Who: Any cyclist that thinks they have what it takes to tackle the worst roads in WV and PA!
Why: Because we like it rough, that's why!

Registration opens January 1st at

Bad ideas for the Hilly Billy: Road bikes, tires under 30cm, not watching the past years videos, linked below and thinking this race is a normal 74-mile ride, not carrying an extra tube AND a patch kit, being afraid of getting muddy, not bringing a sense of adventure.

Good ideas for the Hilly Billy: Having two tubes and a patch kit, carrying a pump with you, not just CO2s, stopping at all aid stations to fuel up, being aware of cars, wildlife, potholes, deep gravel, coal trucks. Picking your racer packet up on Friday night at Pathfinder of WV. Camping on Saturday night. Finally, knowing what you are getting yourself into.

**Returning for 2019!! ** The Hilly Billy Lite! This is a 33-mile ride on the first half of the legendary Hilly Billy Roubaix course. Riders of the Hilly Billy Lite will start and rider the first half of the course with the 70-mile course riders. We will be offering Men's Open, Women's Open and Single Speed Open classes for the Hilly Billy Lite only.

Mason-Dixon Historical Park
79 Buckeye Road
Core, WV 26541

Mass Start at 10:00 AM for all 74-miles riders and 10:02 AM for 33-mile riders. Yes if you are a faster 33 miles rider you will have to deal with slower 74-mile riders in front of you, however the point of the 33-mile route if to allow riders who cannot do the 74-mile route a chance to experience the Hilly Billy, so relax!

Course Information:
74ish miles of dirt, mud, gravel, paved roads, BIG climbs, BIGGER descents. One creek crossing and did we mention a ton of climbing?! It is HARD!!! Ya’ll can't say we didn't warn ya.

Course Map -

This is going to be a mean one, Folks! This course will take you over dirt and paved "State Roads" around Monongalia County in Northern West Virginia. Finish times could be 6 plus hours for some riders. Road conditions may include missing bridges, car-sized potholes, gravel, mud, black top, cow paths, and maybe a piece of road kill or two. That's what we call good riding! Leave your expensive Flux-Capacitors and fancy wheels at home and maybe bring the cross bike. It might be the best tool for the job, but bring whatever you think is best for you. However, if you show up with Zipps on your road bike we may laugh and point at you. This race course has just about everything a cyclist says they want when they're talking it up with their buddies. Now let us see ya ride it! The course will have fully stocked aid stations along the way. Sag support will be provided.

Later Event: July 13
