14th Annual Little Cities Tour de Forest Benefit Bike Ride, May 4, 2019!
Ride for History's Sake!
This annual non-competitive ride raises funds for the Little Cities of Black Diamonds Council which is committed to protecting and sharing the heritage, cultural, and environmental assets of this boom-to-bust coal mining region that is now home to the Wayne National Forest.
Enjoy 70, 30 or 20 mile paved or a 54 mile gravel route, or take part in the rider’s choice – any distance along the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. Ride begins and ends at Hocking College Student Center in Nelsonville. Various routes take riders through the forested hills of southeastern Ohio on both level and challenging courses. In its third year, our challenging gravel route has been well received! Included in registration is a Tour de Forest Souvenir of your choice, a “start your ride” Homemade Granola Bar from Fullbrook’s Cafe on Nelsonville’s Historic Public Square, and access to Hocking College Activity Center (climbing wall, indoor pool, disc golf). A hearty complimentary lunch will be served upon return at the Student Center between 11:30am and 3pm. at Hocking College. Non-rider rec passes also available for those who wish to attend but not ride.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN UNSUPPORTED RIDE. SNACKS/WATER are available at stops in New Straitsville and Shawnee. We do provide a cell phone # for emergency call backs.
Please fill out a registration waiver available at www.tourdeforest.wordpress.com or you may sign a waiver the day of the event.
