Recap: Honey Run West

5 cyclists. 38.5 miles. 3475 feet of climbing. Upper 30’s at the start. Temps hit upper 40’s in the sunshine. Sunny skies all day. Headwind was all over the place for the whole day coming out of the south and the north. Gravel was mostly dry with just a few muddy spots. Route is a mix of nice paved country farm roads and gravel through farmland. A lot of Amish farms and chicken farms so beware of the smell. Route also jumps on the Kokosing Gap Trail for a couple miles. Roughly 50-60% gravel.

This route starts at the Honey Run Waterfall parking lot (Same as Honey Run Gravel 31). There are a lot of parking spots, and a trash can and porte-potty are on-site. Lots of friendly dogs and horses with attitude on this route. Lots of farm animals with babies in the fields. Lunch stop was at Indianfield Bluffs Park. Picnic table is available and the park has some hiking trails too. Eva left us after lunch because of a shifter cable gone awry. I experienced a pedal issue that grew worse over the ride.
