Recap

We parked at the trailhead parking lot. Kenda Tires setup their tent with tire samples for review.

Gravel roads in the area had a lot of scatter and fresh gravel. Downhills were sketchy and most of us dropped air pressure to accommodate.

We stopped occasionally to snack. The fire tower observation deck was open and we stopped to check out the view. And ate snacks. We also stopped at the lake for a snack and a break before the last few climbs.

It was partly cloudy for the whole ride. Temps were in the mid 50’s at the start and ended in the mid 70’s.

There were sections of the route with a number of dogs, but none really bothered us when they ran out onto the road.

As we stopped on the top of one climb a car pulled up and asked if they were close to a major road and they were tired of driving around in the woods. The back seat featured a skeleton and I mentioned that they must have been riding around for a really long time.

The FiftyWest Cycling crew served up street tacos to several of us as we packed up our gear. Good stuff!
