Recap

We parked at the rest area parking lot over looking Seneca Lake Dam. Primitive rest rooms are available.

Gravel roads in the area had a lot of scatter gravel. There is fracking activity near Seneca Lake and several roads are chip and seal. The pavement on the route for the most part is next to the lake.

We stopped at the halfway point at the lake to eat some snacks. We also stopped for a photo opp at “Camp Morningwood” and talked to the owner of the property.

The sun was out for the whole ride. Temps were in the upper 30’s at the start and ended in the mid 60’s.

We saw a lot of horses, cows and a donkey and goats. When Amanda walked down into the grass to pet the horses she did an endo and lost one of her lenses from her glasses in the tall grass. One dog ran with us for a bit.

Route note: We chose to ride the 41 mile route. A 59 mile route is also available.
