GAP trail ride report, day ONE. 

9 riders. 92 miles. Average: 14.6mph with fully loaded panniers. Vertical feet climbed: 1600 feet
Started at Connellsville, PA. Rode through Ohiopyle, Confluence, Lunch at Mill Shoppes in Rockwood was good. (Mill Shoppes closed as of December 23, 2021) Crossed the Salisbury Viaduct near Meyersdale. Big Savage Mountain Tunnel was impressive at Frostburg. We rode up to see the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad turn table. Spent overnight in Cumberland, MD at Fairfield Inn which is located on the trail. The C&O trail starts here. Dinner at Crabby Pig and drinks at Baltimore Street Grille.

92 miles. Left Cumberland and headed back toward Pittsburgh. 22 mile climb from Cumberland to Big Savage Mountain Tunnel averaging 1% grade. Vertical feet climbed: 1900 feet
